I'm using dapper drake,

gdb backtrace:
Program received signal SIGSEV, Segmentation fault.
[Switching to Thread -1219683456 (LWP 5030)
0xb784c749 in q_str_hash () from /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0

and further looking at the problem, ubuntu-desktop ships xubuntu-default-settings. and in there it changes somethings for gdm, 
to look and match xubuntu themes...
