Hi. I'm afraid Xine is the same - 100% cpu and dropping lots of frames.

Also, if it is relevant, Totem refuses to open directly and only opens
when a DVD is inserted into the drive. I had noticed that others have
reported this, but many say it was fixed in an update - that update
didn't fix mine. However if I rename the totem_log.png file then the
problem goes away.
