[Bug 47123] Close icon looks ugly on tabs!

Public bug reported:

The new close icon has a non transparent background and looks ugly IMHO
in applications which use this icon to close a notebook tab like gaim,
anjuta or gedit.

I would prefer a transparent close icon.
