Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: libgtk2.0-0
(NOTE: I'm assuming libgtk2.0-0 is providing the button widgets.)
After installing the Dapper RC (Alternate) on my laptop (Sony VAIO PCG-
GRZ610), I opened update-manager in response to the "updates available"
balloon. I immediately noticed that the "Help" and "Close" buttons were
corrupted by a series of vertical lines of dots (I'm going to upload a
screenshot). As soon as I moved the pointer over the buttons (just
hover, no click), the corruption disappeared.
This behavior occurs in just about any dialogue that offers action
buttons to a greater or lesser degree. I just brought up "About GNOME"
and the "Close" button has a horizontal series of dots across the
bottom, which go away as soon as I point to it.
I'm running the "out-of-the-box" xorg configuration, which selected the
"ati" display driver. Please note that I do not see this behavior on my
desktop (nvidia-glx).
As stated earlier, I will upload the screenshot from the initial
observation. Please let me know what additional information might be
helpful.
** Affects: gtk+2.0 (Ubuntu)
