A part of the confusion is due to the fact you insist using a technical
word (tty) where the issue seems to be that you would like to use a GDM
screen as the standard switch screen (like windows uses its list of
users screen). We already discussed using gdm when locking screen by
example, with a list of users to pick what session to use. Marking the
bug as rejected since that's rather upstream material or a point for a
specification (maybe you can look on the GDM specifications already
present on wiki.ubuntu.com) and we don't need an another bug about that.
