Public bug reported:

I have a linksys BEFCMU10 ver3 Cable modem with a USB connection to my
server. My /etc/network/interfaces file has 3 interfaces enabled: eth0
(hardwired ethernet), eth1 (usb connection), eth2 (rarely used). At
random intervals, eth1 will drop connectivity. To fix, I have to unplug
the usb connection from the server, and plug in again. I am unable to
reproduce the problem, because as I said, it happens randomly.

** Affects: gamin (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
