I found out it has something to do with wpa_supplicant. When I am outside my home WiFi-network, Gnome starts normally. I tried to change my SSID in /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf to "blablabla", and then it also worked fine. -- gnome-settings-daemon crashes at login https://launchpad.net/bugs/61381
