after upgrade to Edgy (which erased AlwaysRestartServer=true line, so it is in the default state), I have experienced no crash, even since I tried few times to log in and out. seems that it is fixed, at least on my computer. -- "white" gdm freeze on logout https://launchpad.net/bugs/48974
