I cannot be sure... It may as well be a problem with firewalls, gdm,
xorg... I see this:
"AUDIT: Wed Oct 4 00:51:08 2006: 6134 X: client 2 rejected from local
host"
at the end of the file.
but is the "client 2" your login or something else? I don't know.
Basically, afaik, it says a 2nd client tried to connect (login to X) but
was rejected due to security reasons. I would go to ubuntuforums.org and
ask there as well, while waiting for a devel to come here.
I also found this, which might be a clue (do you have a firewall)?
