[Bug 65113] Loging in and loging out

Public bug reported:

I'm using Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy, and GNOME version 2.6.1.
When I first log in, everything goes ok. The problem appears immediately after loging out and loging in again with the same user name. 
This error message appear:

There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon.

Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work
correctly.

The last error message was:

Process /usr/lib/control-center/gnome-settings-daemon exited with status
1

GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log in.

It loads gnome but it won't load the icon themes... When I run gnome-
settings-daemon from a terminal it all comes back to normal (at least
until i close the terminal) but here is what it shows:

Everything goes ok if I reboot the computer and log in again...
