Could you get a backtrace when it hangs? Open an another terminal
emulator and run "gdb -p $(pidof gnome-terminal)" then "thread apply all
bt". You might want to install the dbgsym packages (apt source: "deb
http://people.ubuntu.com/~pitti/ddebs edgy main") for gnome-terminal
libvte9 and scim
