Thanks for your bug. This upload fixes the issue:

 system-tools-backends (1.9.4-0ubuntu1) edgy; urgency=low

     - Fix distro detection for gentoo
     - Make NTPConfig try to set the time with ntpdate
     - make it again to start/stop init.d scripts when a service is
       added/removed from the current runlevel
     - Do not export heuristics such as service/runlevel role
     - various code improvements
   * debian/rules:
     - use --with-net-dbus=/usr/lib/perl5 configure option (Ubuntu: #56604)
   * debian/system-tools-backends-dev.install:
     - updated the list of files to install
