[Bug 10551] Boot configurator password issues

Public bug reported:

Setting a password on a boot option stores it as plain text in
/boot/grub/menu.lst rather than using the md5 hash option.

Attempting to set a password on the memory tester fails with an error message
(Error modifying boot image -- Invalid image: "/boot/memtest86+.bin")
