[Bug 59936] default gtk+1.2 font does not render umlauts etc. correctly

Public bug reported:

The defalut gtk+1.2 font does not render umlauts correctly, e.g. in the
german-translated version of XMMS. Setting another font via gtkrc.mine,
eg. bitstream vera sans works, but users should not have to do that.
