Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: evolution
When I try to import a CSV (comma delimited) file with addresses
exported from gmail, evolution stops updating the display and does
nothing, but it uses most of the CPU and its memory footprint keeps
rising. I suspect this is a memory leak bug. Even when I open the file
in gnumeric and export it again with Unix line feeds it does the same.
Also, a file trimmed to one record still crashes Evolution. A file that
crashes my evolution is attached.
An example of what top reports after a few minutes:
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
5339 eduard 25 0 700m 325m 19m R 95.4 32.2 3:33.26 evolution-2.6
Strangely, the file also crashes Kontact when I try to import it there -
do they share common code, or is there a very serious problem with my
file?
** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu)
Importance: Untriaged
Status: Unconfirmed
