I have now double and triple checked. D-Bus is running before my
Xsession script calls gnome-screensaver as it's Xsession start-up script
is called before my custom one. I have even tried to call gnome-
screensaver with:

dbus-launch gnome-screensaver

All of this is to no avail. The first instance when started from
/etc/X11/Xsession.d cannot be reached with gnome-screensaver-command.

Are you able to reproduce?
