Thank you for your bug. That's because files starting by "From " are
detected as mboxes and there is no application associated to open them.
The applicate/mbox type should probably be a sub-class from text/plain,
I've opened a bug upstream about that:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9859

** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu)
Sourcepackagename: nautilus => shared-mime-info
   Importance: Undecided => Low
     Assignee: (unassigned) => Ubuntu Desktop Bugs
       Status: Unconfirmed => Confirmed

** Bug watch added: Freedesktop Bugzilla #9859
   https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9859

** Also affects: shared-mime (upstream) via
   https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9859
   Importance: Unknown
       Status: Unknown

** Summary changed:

- [Feisty] nautilus cannot find an application to open certain text files
+ application/mbox should be a sub-class of text/plain?
