There is over a thousand of nautilus bugs open upstream, a number of
them a crashers, other can lead to data lost, other are pretty annoying,
etc. There is plenty of way to copy a folder though from the sidebar or
without using the sidebar, so right your bug is only a really minor one
on the list of things to fix. It might be fixed soon if somebody else is
annoyed by that an decide to start working on it though
