This is because none of the mentioned PPDs has an indication "recommended" in the *NickName.
g-c-m only preselects the recommended driver if this is indicated in one the PPDs, if there is no recommended driver no driver is preselected.
The PPDs mentioned belong to gutenprint, adding gutenprint task.
