Thank you for your bug on that. The shell works fine with finnish locale
on my feisty desktop. Could you try to get an another valgrind log with
libglib2.0-0-dbg libslab0-dbgsym gnome-control-center-dbgsym
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash) installed?
