[Bug 85575] gnome-terminal reacting very sluggishly

Since a recent update of my Feisty machine, the gnome-terminal is
reacting very suggishly.  For example, if in one tab I have scrolling
text, it takes several seconds after I pressed Ctrl-PgUp to actually get
the tab changed.  This went much more smoothly with the Edgy version.

The installed version is 2.17.91-0ubuntu1.
