Public bug reported:

When running XGL/Compiz on my nVidia 7900 GT/OC, movement of windows is
very choppy. The nVidia control panel states that the screen refresh
rate is 60 Hz, however the screen resolution from the Ubuntu control
panel reports a refresh rate of 50. Only letting me set the refresh rate
to 50, 52, or 56. I am able to force the refresh rate to 60 with the
nVidia control panel, making Compiz run almost flawlessly at 60 FPS.
However even if I save these changes to xorg.conf, they are back to the
50 Hz refresh and choppy Compiz upon restarting X. Thanks for taking the
time to look at this, any questions e-mail me at teeps at toughguy.net
