[Bug 85875] When modifying the volume with the keyboard, Ubuntu sometimes freezes

Public bug reported:

When I decrease/increase the volume via the keyboard, Ubuntu sometimes
(very often) freezes. The music keeps going but I cannot do anything as
its frozen.

If I decrease/increase the volume through the volume icon on top right
corner it works OK.
