Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: evince
I am living in Europe where A4 is the standard paper size. evince
defaults to Letter in the "Page Setup" and with this on my duplex
printouts the back side is not correctly aligned. I get correct
printouts when I select A4 manually in the "Page Setup".
There are two problems:
1. evince does not set A4 as default paper size automatically, based on
/etc/papersize (is set to "a4" on my machine) or on I18n environment
variables (lang, LC_ALL, LC_PAPER, ...). The per-print-queue defaults
could also be pre-set by the defaults of the print queues (accessible
via CUPS and/or GTK 2.10.x printing infrastructure).
2. Manual settings of the paper size are not saved when leaving evince.
They have to be done again whenever one starts evince. So one can easily
forget them and wastes paper and toner.
