I've noticed a couple issues with icon location related to the Y-axis.
I'll provide a screenshot:

-New icons are placed on the very top of the screen if the top-left part
of the desktop is free. Giving them a few pixels would be saner, and it
was the previous behaviour anyway.

-There seems to be some kind of problem with volume icons, where they
don't remember their previous location after being unmounted and then
mounted again.
