Very similar bugs, ATI Radeon 9x00:

Bug #32368 : [Dapper] X11 doesn´t start (ATI Radeon X300 Mobility): With Ubuntu 6.10 DapperFlight4 (Install + LiveCD Version) X11 doesn´t work.
The System crashes with a black screen.
