Thank you for your work on that. xine-ui is the xine player. Could you install totem-xine-dbgsym (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash) and get a backtrace with gdb:
- gdb totem
(gdb) run
... get the crash
(gdb) thread apply all bt

Can you trigger the crash when you want? What sort of video do you play?
Could you give a pointer to download it?
