I have the same problem. I upgraded from edgy to feisty two days ago. All thumbnails created prior to the upgrade are normal. All thumbnails created after have a blue overlay. This seems to happen to all video formats. -- xine backend produces blue overlay on thumbnails. https://launchpad.net/bugs/80629
