I've since uninstalled Ubuntu, I was never able to figure out how to
instal my speedtouch modem to get online, so it wasn't updated. It was
the cd image of 6.10. The package versions are the ones with that
distribution.
I have to say that as a newbie to the Linux forums I'm less than
impressed with the Ubuntu people. I discovered the bug, and joined to
report it. I had several requests for further info in some sort of morse
code......I mean WTF??? I replied to one explaining that the question
was obviously English but as a question it made no sense, and to re-ask
the question as a question and not a series of words.....I got a few
others in the same gibberish.
Thank you Sebastien, at least you asked me in English, in the form of a
question. Yours is the first reply that I've understood, hence the lack
of a reply from me.
I've tried the IRC channel; it's awkward..I've tried in here and it's
all code. I may look for a different Linux with a more user friendly
community.
