Thank you for your bug report.  This was reported upstream at
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=319503 and it was marked
NOTABUG.  There is an extension which allows you to close tabs with
middle click though, it can be found here: http://www.sstuhr.dk
/epiphany-extensions/ .
