[Bug 94370] logout leads to crash (feisty)

Public bug reported:

When I select the Logout button in gnome the screen goes blank and then
locks up the system

Im using Feisty Herd 5 but I think the same bug was present in the herd
4 too.

Im also using fglrx for my Radeon Xpress 200M
