That works nicely for me. Can you run 
   tail -f ~/.xsession-errors -n 0
in one terminal and then
totem "http://www.tv.com/stream_asx.php?path=mms%3ASLASHSLASHa36DOTmDOTakastreamDOTnetSLASH7SLASH36SLASH15817SLASHcnetflashDOTdownloadDOTakamaiDOTcomSLASH15817SLASH_%21SLASHsecureSLASHtvSLASH2007SLASH03SLASHheroes-taste-test-heroes-masi_700DOTwmv&speed=300&prestream=tvad_tudors_031207"
in another and copy the output to a comment of this bug?
