well, if it is desired to have such a feature ahead of the filesystem-
layout solution that was discussed in vancouver, i'm happy to sit down
and create such a thing (though it would be massively different to this
script which leaves a lot stuff behind (like $HOME/snap)) as an interim
solution ...
