thats why the EdubuntuInstallNotes wikipage explicitly mentions the bugs
in there :)

you cant relogin for about 60 seconds, thats also a bug thats mentioned
expilcitly in the above wikipage, there seems to be a problem with ssh X
forwarding and sshd's ipv6 handling (see the wiki and bug for more info)
it seems that we can at least work around it for dapper.

yup, i'm considering this feature for dapper, feel free to make a bzr
branch from my archive [1] and send me a merge request once you have
some code.

yes i'm working on the new greeter, but all patches are gratefully
accepted (after review indeed)
