I'm not sure if this is the correct answer but it's worth trying as when I
first tested feisty I noticed this.

If you double-click on the volume control applet in the top-right corner of
the screen, the full volume control program will pop up. In that program's
menus click
	File->Change Device

Under there you'll be able to select among a number of devices which may
include an Alsa mixer (probably that of the server) and at least one
PulseAudio one (the thin clients are all PulseAudio devices). I needed to
switch over from the Alsa mixer to the PulseAudio one before I could adjust
volume levels.

I only saw this briefly and didn't get time to test thoroughly. If you see
the same, then I guess this is a bug we should report -- ie the correct
audio device should be chosen automatically. Also ideally, users should
only have permission to adjust the volume levels on their own client, not
on the server or other clients.

Let us know how you get on David,

Gavin
