Well, I am all about bridging the gap between the teachers/users and
that magical thing called a FOSS iso image. Things are going well, and
the Edubuntu/LTSP5 progress is part of a very vibrant ecosystem. One
cannot lose site that what is a trivial 5 minute kludge for us is a 4
hour stress factor for educators.
There is a story to be told in our migration. This lab was an early
testing ground for Fedora, a foundation of the K12LTSP. There is a deep
commitment to FOSS by this particular educator I am helping, but there
is a deeper commitment to teaching children effectively and efficiently.
I am often reminded of what is 'different' or not-the-same (equaling
not-as-good) about Edubuntu, and the praises of Eric H. are sung loudly.
