SME Server Authentication

Hi guys.  I am running SME Server 7.2 and I'd like to authenticate a gutsy
edubuntu server (or even a workstation) from it.  Is anyone doing this or
having any success?

, but Gutsy is causing no end of trouble.

SME Server is a great solution until the Edubuntu Authentication Server is
available (always seems to be planned for current release+1).

Can anyone help out?
