We really need to revisit this spec for Hardy Heron
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/EdubuntuK12LTSPFeatures I totally understand
the need to push the "buggy apps" thing upstream, but I'm not totally
convinced that it's always buggy apps. But...even if it is...Sysadmins
such as myself simply cannot wait for the "buggy apps" to be dealt with.
My case in point is the fact that I'm having issues with Tuxpaint....I now
have a bazillion instances of Tuxpaint lingering around. I have to reboot
to rid myself of all of them. If we had something that would purge these
processes for us like the K12LTSP purge users script....although its a bit
of a hack....it would make life in the "real world" of sysadmins....a LOT
easier and happier. I'm advocating for addressing this issue. In my
opinion this is something that cannot wait. I'm seeing it as a bit of a
step backward for me in the move from K12LTSP to Edubuntu. I'm hoping I
can find some way to deal with this in the meantime. I'm totally open to
ideas and suggestions.
