Doenloading a file

Dear Sir,
I have just started using Ubuntu and I am having a problem when I download a programme from the internet.

I get the following message:-

" Cannot open/home/martinehancock/Desktop avg 7.5 free_487_ 1130(2).exe.No application suitable for automatic installation is available for handling this kind of file."

Please tell me how to fix this problem.
