creating fat 'thin' clients with ltsp new problem

Sorry...found something new. At the terminal I logon
as root, then did startx.......and poof, I have a
desktop.

When I first boot the machine, I get the little Ubuntu
load bar thing, it goes about a quater of the way and
stops. That is when I switch to tty1 and login and
startx. Not very gnome like....so I guess this is
Xfce..?

How Possible/hard would it be to have a vmware session
running as a fat client (local App)?
