LTSP client sometimes logs out unexpectedly...

Eh?  We switched from Fedora/CentOS based LTSP to Edubuntu primarily for the
fact that documentation was far superior than the aforementioned
alternatives.

Shot in the dark here, but is your server running any sort of power backup
monitoring software?
