Dear Asmo,
Thanks a lot for your replies. I am running Dell Optiplex GX 110s here
as thin clients, without disks:
http://www.dealtime.com/xPF-Dell-Optiplex-GX110-GX110
They have been working perfectly under 8.04.
I've tried your suggestions:
1. Remove gnome-screensaver and compiz
andrew at aammscott:~$ sudo chroot /opt/ltsp/i386
[sudo] password for andrew:
root at aammscott:/# sudo apt-get remove --purge gnome-screensaver compiz
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package gnome-screensaver is not installed, so not removed
Package compiz is not installed, so not removed
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Hmm, are you suggesting that I remove these packages from the base
install? That would be a big no-no for me as 10.0.0.1 is the family's
main computer ...
2.
andrew at aammscott:/var/lib/tftpboot/ltsp/i386$ cat lts.conf
################
# Global defaults for all clients
# if you refer to the local server, just use the
# "server" keyword as value
# see lts_parameters.txt for valid values
################
[default]
X_COLOR_DEPTH=16
LDM_DIRECTX=True
X_RAMPERC=80
Made no difference for me, I'm afraid ;(
There must be something else going on. Either it is something to do with
video drivers i.e. screen blanks, or it is something to do with the NBD
server which is the last message seen.
Any help appreciated :)
Thanks,
Andrew
