ndbswap configuration

First, I have to say the Edubuntu 9.10 is running very nicely. Now, I
just need to tweak some settings ... I hope.
Specifically, I have set NBD_SWAP=TRUE, and have also added nbdswapd:
ALL: keepalive to /etc/hosts.allow, but how do I configure how big a
swap to create for the clients? And how do I make sure that swap is
available? The thin clients have 512Mb memory but occasionally a
local app will error out with an 'out of memory' error.
And, while not in the header, has anyone gotten googleearth to run a
local app? I can launch googleearth but then the app can't connect to
the google servers. So, I have a proxy issue? Firefox as a localapp
works fine though I had to set the proxy settings there as well.
Googleearth though doesn't seem to have a proxy option.
Sincerely,
Dave Hopkins
