Deny multiple login of the same user

If you are using Edubuntu 12.04 for example (it also works in 10.04 and perhaps everything in between), you can add the following to your lts.conf:

LDM_LIMIT_ONE_SESSION = true

This will logout the first session if someone logs in with the same username somewhere else. I'm not certain if this is what you would like as it doesn't 'deny' the second login - instead, it logs out the first.
