As far as I know, there's nothing technically preventing commercial
applications from having links to their Web sites in USC, like packages
do that are provided by Ubuntu. I'm investigating.

Title:
No links for commercial apps in Ubuntu software centre

Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: software-center

The for purchase software does not seem to contain any vendor
information or links to their website. This might be tolerable if the
information on the page was more complete (demos, more screenshots,
trailers, company name, actual hardware (memory, space, video card,
  cpu requirements).
