Bonjour,

With Ubuntu 11.4 I did not have this problem. But before 11.4, when the
"update-manager" process was run and did install a new kernel, all was
fine at first but after the installation of the new kernel I have to
reboot and then my Ubuntu was lost ! I only see Windows XP.

N.B.: I haved installed Ubuntu with WUBI.

For reports happening during the dist-upgrade, the occurrence could be
explained by having the pre-upgrade version of the debconf frontend still
running.  I don't see how this would account for bug reports "shortly after"
a dist-upgrade.  Does this suggest any explanations to you?

Title:
grub-pc failed to install/upgrade: exit status 1 - frontend: Fatal IO
error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.0.

Status in “grub2” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: grub2

Update manager attempted to update my system but hung with questions
for grub.  When I restarted my computer the version.16 failed to start
and the system reverted back to the shell.  I was able to do an 'ctrl'
'alt' 'delete' and chose the older.14 and got my computer started up.
Went to update manager to try rerunning updates but got an error
message stating that I must "manually" run 'sudo dpkg--configure-a'.
I am new to linux and do not know how to perform these steps properly.
