Title:
Alternate 10.04 cannot be installed via USB

Status in “debian-installer” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The alternate 10.04 i386 iso cannot be installed from a USB flash
memory. The installation starts giving a "No CD-Rom found" error at
step 3 in the installation. The USB stick was prepared with Universal
  USB Installer.

A forum search reveals that several users is affected by this and no
  working solution has been found.

The main reason I want to use the alternate installations is because
  of the encryption offered.
