I'm glad to hear you were able to get Ubuntu installed successfully,
because this was a hardware error I'm setting this to Invalid. I hope
you enjoy Ubuntu!

Title:
Ubuntu installer crashes (because of hard drive ?)

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Hi everybody,

I'm brand new on Ubuntu (well, I'm not a complete new user yet) and here is my problem. I can't start my computer with Windows so I said myself of last chance, why not try Ubuntu ?
So here I am, trying to install it but after a couple of minutes, it says me (in french cause I'm french, so please excuse my poor english ...) something like the cd isn't well burnt or my cd driver doesn't work or maybe my hardrive is destroyed ...
Anyways, there was a recommandation to post the files var/log/syslog and partman so here we go.

I think it comes from the hardrive because I already had some problems
but well, I'm not a computer expert so... I'd just like to know if it
comes from the hardrive cause it's a notebook and well, it's not that
old so that'd be nice to keep it working for some time...

  Thanking you by advance,
  Rémi

PS : I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 - the Natty Narwhal
And I'm sorry but I didn't find the version of the package I'm using ...
