That's really peanuts compared to what Lucid outputs during boot (often
hidden behind fancy plymouth):
I have seen Eastern Europe characters, even changing to normal codepage
(Western Europe) while booting up. Just now I caught a screenshot where
German word "Blöcke" was displayed as "Bl ...cke", see attached picture.
But display of non-ASCII characters may change - depending on phase of
moon?

Title:
Disk check message has inconsistent spelling: "disk" and "disc".
Status in “mountall” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS
mountall version: 2.15.3
During the routine disk check when booting the system, the message for
the user begins:
"Your disk drives are being checked for errors, this may take some time
Checking disc 1 of 1"
The first line uses "disk" but the second uses "disc". This is
inconsistent. One spelling should be used in both instances. I suggest
the "disk" spelling for both, since "disc" usually seems to refer to
optical media.
