Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: update-manager

  Used update manager to install offered xorg updates on 1 April 09.

  Message request bug reported with following information

  E:read, still have 4125719 to read but none left, E: The package lists
  or status file could not be parsed or opened.

  Update manager now shows no updates to install.

  Has this installed or not? Don't know but must assume not, so why is
  it not listed for install?
